Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s Art Deco Glamour
Located in the heart of the West End and offering traditional glamour and luxury, Claridge’s is one of London’s most famous hotels. Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin starred restaurant is located within. The interior incorporates many art deco elements from the 1920’s which have been used as inspiration for the uniform designs for the Hostesses. Subtle grey pinstripe suits with light grey shirts were chosen for the managers. The Commis and Chef de Rang all wear specially dyed claret red waistcoats and jackets that blend with the colours of the interior of the restaurant. The look is classical yet stylish and fits perfectly with the ambiance and colours of this upmarket establishment.
Maze Asian Influences
The Maze Restaurant overlooks the famous Grosvenor Square in Mayfair. Also owned by Gordon Ramsay Holdings, this project required a more modern approach. The uniform is a fusion of French and Oriental to complement the unique combination of food served and the contemporary, subtle décor.
Hostesses wear silk like fabric in an adaptation of an oriental style jacket in pale cream and chocolate brown with decorative gold toggles to contrast with the mahogany décor and gold upholstery. The glamorous hostess outfits were combined with bespoke mandarin collared shirts in a subtle light brown for waiting staff in the fine dining restaurant and black, stock supported shirts in the bar.
